The Matcha

Not a wellness product.
Not a trend.

Nami is ceremonial-grade organic matcha, sourced and packed in Uji, Japan — the birthplace of Japanese green tea. Stone-milled for balance and softness. No additives. No flavouring.

First harvest means the youngest, most tender leaves, picked in spring before the heat arrives. Shade-grown to increase L-theanine — the compound that gives matcha its calm, unhurried energy. The kind that doesn’t spike. Doesn’t crash.

Something older and quieter than either of those things. A practice that has been keeping people steady in their mornings for centuries.

Where it Comes From

Uji, Japan.
Seventh generation.
No shortcuts.

Uji Matcha
Ujitawara, tucked into the mountains of Kyoto Prefecture, is where the Harima family has farmed tea since 1858. Sharp morning mists. Cool evenings. Calcic soils farmed patiently, without pesticides or synthetic fertiliser for over 50 years.

By hand. With patience. The weeding done slowly, season by season. The soil given time to recover.

That is the matcha in your bowl.
Uji Matcha

The tools

Made to stay on your bench.

The bowl is hand-blown borosilicate glass — transparent, heat-resistant, odourless. It lets you watch the colour bloom as you whisk. That moment is part of the practice.

The glass whisk holder keeps the chasen shaped after each use, so it dries properly and lasts. The bamboo whisk is made from a single piece of bamboo, with 100 fine prongs.

Tools you’re proud of stay visible. Tools you’re not proud of disappear.

The Practice

Five minutes.
Entirely Yours.

Before the world knows you're awake.

Measure

The warming of the bowl. Measuring of the leaf. A dialogue between water and leaf.

Move

With movement, sound, texture. A gesture repeated until it becomes instinct.

Still

With pause before the first sip. Attention settles. The body listens.

What people say

Steady Mornings.

“I bought this after seeing it on Instagram and was half expecting to use it twice and forget about it.

It’s been four months.

It’s the first thing I do every morning before my phone.”

Priya K

“The matcha is incredible. I’ve tried probably six or seven different brands over the years and this is the one I keep coming back to.

No bitterness, beautiful colour, and it actually keeps me calm in a way coffee never did.”

James T – Melbourne

“Three months in.

The glass bowl is still on my bench every morning. I actually look forward to getting up now.”

Emma R – Byron Bay

“Was a bit sceptical about the glass bowl seemed fussy. But watching the colour come through as you whisk it is genuinely lovely.

Small thing but it makes you slow down for a minute. That’s worth something on a Monday morning.”

Sarah M – Brisbane

“I was skeptical. I am not a morning person.

But there’s something about the process the whisking, the smell that just slows everything down.”

Tom W – Gold Coast

“I’ve had two coffees before 9am every day for about twelve years. I bought this mostly out of curiosity and fully expected to go back to coffee within a week.

It’s been six weeks and I’ve had maybe three coffees total.

I don’t miss the jitters. I don’t miss the crash at 2pm.

I just feel steady in a way I didn’t
realise I wasn’t before.”

Anika – Perth

Questions

Simply answered.

What makes this ceremonial grade?

Ceremonial grade means first harvest — the youngest leaves, picked in spring. Shade-grown to develop L-theanine and chlorophyll, then stone-milled slowly. The result is a vivid deep green, smooth and creamy, made to drink straight. Not the older, harsher leaves used for baking.

Around 25 cups using half a teaspoon per serve. Four to five weeks of a daily morning practice. After that, refills are available in the shop.

Yes. Borosilicate glass, heat resistant to 150°C. Pour directly without cracking or clouding. The same glass used in laboratory equipment and quality teaware.

70–80°C. Hot, but not boiling. Boiling water makes matcha bitter. Let the kettle sit for two minutes after boiling, or use a temperature-controlled kettle.

Yes. Nami matcha is available separately in 50g, 300g and 1kg from the shop. The tools last well with simple care — rinse the glass pieces, rest the whisk on the holder to dry.

Try it slowly. If it doesn’t feel as steady as you hoped, we’ll take it back. Refund or replacement — no explanations needed.
